Areas of Interest I believe therapy works best when it is founded in collaboration. My approach invites clients to be active participants in this process through the creation of an environment where they can explore challenges and life experiences in a holistic and truly meaningful way. My goal is to always provide a safe, inclusive and judgment free environment where every client feels respected, heard, and supported in sharing their feelings and experiences without fears of criticism. I operate from an evidence-based and solution-focused approach, drawing from modalities such as EMDR, mindfulness practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and strengths-based strategies. I believe clients are the experts of their own lives, and see them as capable, resourceful, and resilient. Together, we will strive towards increasing self-awareness, identifying strengths, developing effective coping skills, and achieving personal goals. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, interpersonal effectiveness, grief, navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and assertiveness/self-advocacy. My work is also grounded in multicultural awareness, and I am committed to fostering a practice that honors diversity, inclusion, and equity. Our Work Together My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and create a life that feels more stable, meaningful, and aligned with what truly matters to you. While we can’t change the past, we can work together to shift patterns, develop new skills, and move toward a future guided by your values. Using a combination of evidence-based approaches—including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive and behavioral strategies, and structured assessment—I help clients increase psychological flexibility, so they can respond to challenges more effectively rather than feeling stuck or overwhelmed by them. ACT is a central part of my approach, helping you learn how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions instead of fighting against them. Together, we focus on clarifying your values, building acceptance, and taking meaningful action—even in the presence of discomfort—so you can create a life that feels more purposeful and fulfilling. DBT is another key component of my work, particularly for individuals who experience intense emotions, difficulty with relationships, or challenges with impulsivity and distress tolerance. Through DBT, we focus on building concrete, practical skills in areas such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach helps you develop greater control over emotional reactions, improve communication, and navigate high-stress situations more effectively while maintaining a sense of balance. I also have experience working with professionals across a wide range of fields, including business executives, tradesmen, attorneys, accountants, physicians, and fellow mental health professionals. These individuals often face high levels of responsibility, performance pressure, and competing demands that can impact both personal well-being and professional effectiveness. Our work may focus on managing stress and burnout, improving work-life balance, enhancing decision-making and focus, navigating complex interpersonal dynamics, and maintaining a strong sense of identity and purpose both inside and outside of work. I aim to provide a space that is both confidential and practical, where high-performing individuals can step back, gain clarity, and develop strategies that translate directly into their daily lives. I work primarily with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, high-functioning Autism Spectrum traits, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, and complex dual diagnoses. I also support individuals navigating substance use recovery, life stage transitions (career changes, retirement, and shifting roles at home), grief and loss, and challenges related to anger, stress, or interpersonal relationships. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals involved in the legal system and those transitioning from inpatient or residential care into everyday life. Clients often seek me out when they feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to move forward. Others are looking for greater clarity through assessment, improved coping strategies, or support managing multiple co-occurring concerns. I aim to provide a space that is both supportive and practical—where you can gain insight, but also walk away with tools you can use in your day-to-day life. I strive to create a comfortable, collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. My approach is highly individualized—no two people have the same story, and your treatment should reflect that. Whether you’re looking for support through a difficult time or ready to make intentional changes, I look forward to working with you to help you move toward a life that feels more consistent with who you want to be. Specialized Focus I offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group facilitation, with groups available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I also provide comprehensive psychological evaluations designed to explore and clarify the concerns a client may be experiencing. These evaluations support diagnostic clarification and inform individualized treatment planning. Please note that these services are not forensic (court-related) or neuropsychological evaluations. Additional areas of clinical focus include life stage transitions (such as career changes, retirement, and shifts in home life), adult ADHD, adult Autism Spectrum presentations, anger and emotional regulation, grief and loss, dual diagnoses, and supporting individuals transitioning to lower levels of care following discharge from inpatient or residential treatment programs. Education BS-Psychology and Business Administration, Marian University, Fond du Lac, WI MS-Clinical Psychology, Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology, Milwaukee, WI PsyD- The Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology, Milwaukee, WI Experience My clinical work is focused on supporting adults with a wide range of presenting concerns, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, depression, and complex dual diagnoses. I draw on experience across residential and outpatient substance use treatment settings, community mental health, and private practice to provide comprehensive, individualized care. I currently serve as the Mental Health Services Director at Affiliated Clinical Services as well as an Associate Professor at The Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology in Milwaukee, WI. I am committed to helping clients better understand their experiences, build practical coping strategies, and navigate the complexities of co-occurring conditions in a way that promotes long-term growth and stability. *Note: Mr. Groskreutz treats patients 18 & older and currently sees clients on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays in the West Bend office and Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Hartford office.
