Treating teens and developing healthy living habits
Teenage substances abuse can be challenging for any parent to confront. ACS works with adolescents in individual and family therapy. The length and duration of treatment is dependent on the client’s progress and clinical need. Throughout the process, ACS’s therapists work to raise the awareness of dangers of use, promote rewards for sobriety, develop positive activities to take the place of using substances, and increase healthy communication in the family. Urine drug screens are frequently used over the course of treatment to increase accountability, assess for relapses, and allow adolescents to get positive feedback about sobriety. With support and accountability, teens are able to develop the skills to turn away from substances using behaviors and develop on healthy living habits.
