Areas of Interest
Suzanne has a special interest in the use of emotional healing based therapies. For the past 20 years she has incorporated EMDR into her practice as well as pursuing training and gaining expertise in several other newer approaches that have proven to be clinically effective methods of helping. Through a better understanding of how the brain and body manage various troublesome experiences, these approaches are appropriate ways to address a broad range of concerns which include: managing depression and anxiety, improving performance and working to relieve the emotional intensity of negative life experiences or trauma related events.

Suzanne has worked as both a psychotherapist and art therapist in acute care hospitals and long-term inpatient settings serving adults. She has worked with adults in a community based outpatient clinic and has provided mental health services for clients in both AODA and psychiatric programs. She has experience in development and provision of group therapies for adults having concerns about issues such as: depression, sexual abuse, chronic health concerns and somatic preoccupation.
